Why We Do Not Sell Your Data
Financial data is among the most sensitive information a person has. It reveals where you shop, how much you earn, what you owe, and how you spend your time. When a company has access to that data, the temptation to monetise it is enormous. Aggregated financial data is extraordinarily valuable to advertisers, lenders, and insurers. We made a deliberate decision from day one that we would never sell, share, or monetise user data in any form.
Our business model is subscription revenue. Users pay for premium features, and that is how we sustain the company. This is a cleaner alignment of incentives than the alternative, where the product is free but the user is the product. When your revenue comes from users, you are incentivised to build things users value. When your revenue comes from data buyers, you are incentivised to collect as much as possible and keep people engaged for data harvesting rather than genuine benefit.
We also minimise what we store. Bank feed data is processed for categorisation and then the raw feed data is not retained beyond what is necessary for the features to function. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not share data with third-party analytics platforms that could re-identify users. Our privacy policy is written in plain English because we believe people should actually understand what they are agreeing to.
