Community Update: January 2026

22 January 2026·3 min read

January is always a big month for personal finance. New Year motivation, annual reviews, and tax year planning all converge to create a surge of interest in getting money sorted. Our community reflected that energy, with a significant increase in new members joining the Discord, subreddit, and mailing list throughout the month.

The most active discussion topics in January were goal setting for the new year, ISA strategy ahead of the April deadline, and debates about which budgeting method to start with. We also saw some brilliant community-created content: spreadsheet templates, comparison charts, and detailed write-ups of personal financial journeys that other members found genuinely helpful.

On the product side, we used community feedback from January to prioritise several quality-of-life improvements for the next release. The most requested features were faster transaction categorisation, better handling of split transactions, and a dark mode for late-night budgeting sessions. All three are now on the near-term roadmap. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share detailed feedback.
